The professional football sector in Europe has a body known as the “social partners”. The agreement was made with them in the territory that falls under UEFA and the European Union (EU).

The agreement is a first of sorts signed for team sport by Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels – Division Europe (FIFPro Division Europe), European Club Association (ECA) , European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) and UEFA. The European Commission held a ceremony in Brussels where the agreement was signed.
The salient feature of the agreement is that is lays out a minimum requirement for the contracts to be offered to players. The benefits of the agreement will be in safeguarding the player’s interests and also of the club. It will ultimately lead to better management of football in Europe.
“It is a great opportunity to have the football family of Europe seated around the same table, and speaking for the same cause,” Michael Platini, the President of UEFA said. “We have come this far because of a lot of good work, mutual trust and good faith. I would especially like to thank the European Commission and all other parties involved for creating the infrastructure required for this kind of dialogue to take place. The social dialogue for EU has been a top priority of mine since becoming the UEFA President.”
In July 2008, the EU Social Dialogue Committee was created. It works in the field of professional football. It brings all the organisations which represent the employers as well as the employees on the same platform so that they can work together. This allows them to agree on issues of social conditions and employment in the field of professional football. Being the governing body for football in Europe, UEFA enjoys a seat in the committee. The committee is chaired by the UEFA President.
Today’s meeting decided that the contracts must agree to some minimum requirements. They are:
They must include matters like social security salary, paid leave, health insurance, etc. They must also have provisions to settle disputes
They should define the cardinal duties and rights of player and club.
They must include laws which make the player to take part in training, follow disciplinary procedures and maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle.
The pertinent decision making organisations of Europe have accepted the agreement.

The match between AC Milan and Bologna was a nail biting contest as the result was 1-1 draw thanks to the final minute goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to retain the point. He scored a goal in 58th minute of the match but the goal was cancelled due to a controversial decision of offside. The defender Daniele Bonera was sent off the ground because of the second yellow card. AC Milan supporters were finally relieved as the match ends as a draw.

Inter Milan was bit disappointed as they have to make a draw of 0-0 against Fiorentina in Tuscany. In this month, there was a full of draw matches in European Leagues. Casena made a 2-2 draw with Palermo. The match was full of twists and turns as both the teams were looking good to snatch the match from each other.

The match between Leece and Lazio was also very enjoyable as the former team scored the match saving goal in the ending part of the last half. The game went goal less for the first eighty minutes and suddenly got its speed when Francesco Matuzalem scored a goal in the 82 minute, and Bojinov has scored the equalizer within the next minute. The match was always evenly poised and got a very close finish.

The match between Genoa and Siena had to be stopped after the completion of the first half as the supporters of the home team behaved badly and they forced the players to remove their dress in the ground. At the first half Siena scored four goals and the home team was loosing badly. The match was finally started after Giuseppe Sculli emotionally begged apology and Siena won the match by 4-1 and secured 3 important points for them.

The veteran Carlos Zambrano by virtue of this victory by Chicago team has picked up his 13th career win against the Pittsburgh team and is currently the second best active pitchers in the MLB along with Aaron Harang. Zambrano is known for his great play against Pirates and he showed his class in this game also and that too on one of his happy hunting arenas, the PNC Park. Even though Zambrano was a little bit off color in this game, the Pirates were in such miserable form that did not capitalize on the 66 strikes out of 114 pitches thrown by him.
