Liverpool has almost finished their signing of players and the players were available for training in the pre season. The fans of Liverpool is expecting more active season. They also expected a much better preseason from their favorite team. But it seems that the new additions in the team have failed to impress the fans. The fans are not happy with the performance of Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard is suffering from groin injury. Even after making some big signings in the summer the Liverpool were not able to perform well in the pre season friendly matches. This is what the fans are bothered about. The Liverpool has put up a bad show even against some worst teams in Europe and Asia.
Liverpool will be able to sign more players only after removing certain players who are not really useful. The friendly matches have proved the necessity of new talents in the club to strengthen the defense part. The Uruguayan players Deigo Godin and Alvaro Periera are on the list of Liverpool. They will be handy in improving the defense if bought. They have experience and will be able to handle the pressures of the game with more confidence than the other players in the team. At present Godin is playing for Athletico Madrid and Alvaro is playing for FC Porto. For them the offer from a bigger English club will be more appealing. These players have a good position in their respective teams.
Dalgish should under stand the need of more talents. Till now his best buy is Luis Suarez. Losing matches in the preseason will not do any good to improve the confidence of the players. Andy Carroll has played in most of the friendly matches of Liverpool and was not able to do any thing commendable. If the Liverpool wishes to have more success in the coming season they have to improve in all aspects of the game. It is true that Liverpool is having a whole new set of players and it will take some time for the members to adjust to each others style of play. So, buying new players for the team should be the first priority before the starting of the season. Diego Godlin and Alvaro are best options for strengthening the team to the level necessary for winning the game. Time is running out and the Reds should make a faster decision.
Liverpool Still Needs More Talent
Phoenix All Star Nash Not Interested To Play In China:
There are many NBA superstars who have decided or in fact signed to play for the Chinese Basketball Association this coming season owing to the longest lock out in NBA. Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul who are on a promotional tour of China have expressed their desire to play in the Chinese basketball championships this year. But the point guard of the Phoenix team, Steve Nash, has said in an interview in Shanghai that he is not interested in playing in the cash rich league in China and would like to play for the Phoenix in the upcoming season.
Steve Nash said that he would have come and played in the Chinese Basketball Championship if he did not have to take care of his three daughters. He is sorry for his die hard fans in China for letting them down despite the basketball league in China being an awesome one. There are a lot of opportunities for players from all over the world in the Chinese league. But he wants to be with his family and friends during the vacation rather than playing in the Chinese Basketball league. Nash is on a four day charity visit to China.
Nash is not interested in being traded for the upcoming season. He has expressed his willingness to play for his Phoenix side in the 2012 NBA Championship. Steve Nash started his career as a Phoenix Suns player in 1996 and has been playing for the Suns team for more years than he has played for other teams.
Steve Nash is pretty aware of every player interested to be in the ring. There were many instances when he and his friends were close to being in the ring. He says that he is not willing to be part of any other team other than the Phoenix team. He is hopeful of a better showing by the Phoenix boys in the upcoming season. The Phoenix Suns also will not be interested in trading their two time All Star point guard as he has proved to be an asset for the team time and time again. The team is willing to hold on to their long served 37 year old point guard for a longer time as there may be interesting offers that may roll in. Nash wants to finish the remaining year of the contract with the Phoenix Suns before thinking of joining another team at the age of 38.
Debutant Lee‘S Electrifying Performance Could Not Seal Victory for Pirates
An impressive and electrifying performance by the debutant Derrek Lee could not seal victory for his new team Pittsburgh Pirates against the Chicago team last Monday night. The home crowd gave Derrek Lee a standing ovation when he first stepped on to the field in the Pirates jersey. Lee made full use of his new home conditions in the game against Chicago. But unfortunately his teammates did not live up to the expectations of the home fans and finally the team tasted yet another humiliating defeat of 5-3 at the hands of the Chicago team.
Derrek Lee, the newest slugger of the Pirates team, gave some of the most entertaining moments for the Pirates supporters, but the other players in the team did not offer the necessary support to this new player. This loss has made the pirates slip further down in the points table of the National League Central race. Lee said that he was excited to score two home runs for his new team and was pretty much satisfied with his performance. The Pirates have lost six games out of the last ten they have played and will be hoping to stem this miserable run in the near future. The last couple of weeks have seen the Pittsburgh Pirates slump from bad to worse.
The Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle is lost for words these days as he is still not able to figure out what the actual problem with the team is. The team always goes through rigorous practice sessions and their pre match preparations are excellent. But, on the field the players are not able to deliver the goods that will help them seal a win for the team. Hurdle says that the team has hit some turbulence and will have to find a way to escape from this turbulence pretty soon.
The veteran Carlos Zambrano by virtue of this victory by Chicago team has picked up his 13th career win against the Pittsburgh team and is currently the second best active pitchers in the MLB along with Aaron Harang. Zambrano is known for his great play against Pirates and he showed his class in this game also and that too on one of his happy hunting arenas, the PNC Park. Even though Zambrano was a little bit off color in this game, the Pirates were in such miserable form that did not capitalize on the 66 strikes out of 114 pitches thrown by him.
Bout Cancelled Due To Withdrawl of Pavlik
Kelly Pavlik who was in the Alcohol rehab was on the come back trail. He was the former Middle weight Champion. He with drew from the Saturday’s fight with Darryl Cunningham on Monday. There was no specific reason given for with drawl. Todd duBoef the president of Top Rank made it clear on Tuesday that Pavlik is not suffering from any injury he also failed to give any apt reason for the with drawl from the bout. Due to this with drawl the entire card was forced to cancel. Todd said that Kelly’s sudden decision has made great disappointment to Top Rank. He was on his way back to re-build his career.
Kelly’s team has provided him with a strategic plan to bring him back to the game and this plan has been spoiled by this with drawl. Pavlik was scheduled to fight at Covelli Center in Youngstown, Ohio. This is the home town of Pavlik. There is information that Pavlik was going to get paid $50,000 to fight Cunningham and he was not ready to fight with Bute who is a southpaw for a less amount which he described as peanuts.
Pavlik announced that he has pulled out of the fight just because of some business reason. Top Rank wanted a deal with Bute’s promoter so that Pavlik side will get 40 % of the income generated. Top Rank offered Pavlik $1.35 million and another $25, 000 for training expenses. It seems Pavlik was unhappy with this deal. He was aware of the fact that InterBox, the Bute’s promoter, has tried to sign Mikkel Kessler earlier with bigger offer.
DuBoef is of opinion that the cancellation has nothing to do with the proposed fight with Bute. The Saturdays fight was not a two-fight deal. The 29-year old Pavlik who had a title loss in 2010 April had ended the 13 month old lay off on May 7th this year. Pavlik has reached 168 pounds and looked rusty. Pavlik and his team has requested for another fight before the bout with Bute so, that he will be able to get more practicing to play against a southpaw. But on Monday night the co-manager of Pavlik, Cameron Dunkin called to say that Pavlik was withdrawing from the fight. DuBoef described the decision as highly unprofessional. He thought that Pavlik has withdrawn because he is again in to alcohol but there is no evidence.
